KILO-WHAT-HOUR?
A kilowatt-hour (kWh) is a common way of measuring electrical power. A kilowatt-hour is the amount of energy that it takes to power a 1000-watt load for one hour, or a 500-watt load for 2 hours, and so on. A modern, full-sized solar panel can pump out up to 3 kWh over the course of a sunny summer day - if you have enough battery capacity to store it all. A battery bank is like a gas tank: the bigger you've got the further you can go. Figuring out your daily energy needs in kWh is a great way to get started when designing a new system! Fill out our questionnaire to find out how many panels you'll need to meet your energy needs and how many batteries you'll need to store it!
