The Victron MultiPlus 12/2000/80-50 is a great option for a smaller off-grid kit. If you need to power one big load at a time — an induction cooktop, microwave, toaster, larger power tool, A/C unit, or anything else up to its rated output — this inverter/charger will get it done in a compact package that combines a true sine wave inverter, an adaptive multi-stage battery charger, and a high-speed AC transfer switch.

Add the optional VE.Bus Smart Dongle and you can control the MultiPlus from the Victron Connect app on any Bluetooth-enabled device, including setting the voltage it shuts off at — so it can run only while your engine is on and shut itself off before draining your battery, handy for charging devices from your vehicle's alternator. It also charges your battery bank from any external 120V AC source, like a generator or shore power at a house or RV park.
