The Victron MultiPlus-II 12/4000/160-50 2x120V is the split-phase version of Victron's largest 12V inverter/charger — 3.4kW of continuous output and a 160A charger, with two 120V output legs that give you a true 120/240V split-phase panel from a 12V battery bank. That makes it the one-box answer for North American 50A RVs and boats: the whole coach panel stays live on inverter power, not just one leg. PowerAssist boosts a limited shore power or generator connection with battery power during high-load moments, and on a shore power or grid failure it transfers to inverter power in under 20 milliseconds. Pair it with a GX device such as the Cerbo GX for full remote monitoring and control from the VRM app, from anywhere in the world.

Key Specs:

  • DC Input: 9.5-17V (12V system)
  • Continuous Output: 3.4kW at 25°C
  • Peak Power: 6000W (2 seconds)
  • AC Output: 2 x 120V (120/240V split phase), 60Hz ± 0.1%
  • Max Charge Current: 160A
  • AC Input / Transfer Switch: 50A at 120/240VAC
  • Max Efficiency: 93%
  • Dimensions: 650 x 275 x 165mm (25.6 x 11 x 6.5 in)
  • Weight: 25kg (55 lb)
  • Part Number: PMP122405200

Which version do you need? Choose this 2x120V model if your rig or boat has a 50A 120/240V split-phase inlet and you want both legs live off the inverter. For a standard 30A or single-leg 50A shore connection, the MultiPlus-II 12/4000/160-50 120V is the simpler and less expensive choice. Note that a single 12V unit still produces 3.4kW total across both legs — split phase divides the same power, it does not double it.
